Welcome To The ARRL Puerto Rico State Convention 2013
This event is a collaborative effort from ARRL affiliated clubs in the Puerto Rico Section. The Caribbean Amateur Radio club has been organizing this hamfest for the last 7 years. It as become the biggest and most attended hamfest on the island. It has grown and for this year it will host the first ever ARRL Puerto Rico State Convention.
After last year’s event, a group of organizers got together and talked about holding and ARRL Convention. The following week at the Orlando Hamcation, we met with our Division director Greg Sarratt, W4OZK to discus some issues regarding the ARRL Puerto Rico Section. During that meeting we presented the idea to Greg and assured that throughout the year we will be working to strengthen the section. All of our efforts culminate with this event.
Unlike previous years, the event will be held for two days. On Saturday, the ARRL Puerto Rico VEC Team will be hosting an examination session in English and Spanish (click for more info). Also that afternoon a forum session has been prepared to cover most of Amateur Radio topics with speakers visiting us from other ARRL Sections and countries.
Exhibitions will be opened on both days. On Sunday the Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League will be holding its annual general assembly (click for more info) on nearby Arecibo, returning for lunch at the coliseum. Entrance is free. A prize drawing will be held on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon with our grand prize of an FTDX-3000D generously donated by Yaesu, our platinum sponsor.
Below you can find a map of the facilities. We are thankful to the Hatillo Township for their continous and most generous contribution to our event.
If you are visiting us locally from Puerto Rico, thank you once again for your visit and continuous support.
If you are visiting from abroad… Why endure a cold Winter when you can be in paradise?
Come down and enjoy some Caribbean sunshine while attending the Caribbean’s Biggest Ham Radio Event.
